The Wanderers Life, Year One!
Curt and I began this road journey one year ago! And......Yes, we made the decision to keep on going. Sooooo....I would like to continue the photo journal blog but would like some input on any changes you think might enhance the blog. Now that we have explored 99% of the national parks, we will focus on other discoveries in the world of nature and beautiful places.
The last two months have included lots of family time and less exploration. I found it a little more challenging to find time to capture family time through the photo journal. Hmmmm....I thought retirement meant slowing down....NOT.
I will also clear the map to reflect year 2! We are open to suggestions of places that we should revisit or "must sees" and "must dos" so bring it on!

The Fantasy Life of Bone, or Is It Real?
BONE has many adventures. We recently caught up with him in Tombstone, Arizona having one. The pictures tell the story. Bone rides through the desert on a horse with no name, or body, for that matter. He arrives in Tombstone and stops off at Big Nose Kate’s for a beer. (Big Nose is Doc Holliday’s girlfriend.) One of Big Nose’s ‘working girls’ entices him away from his normally chaste life. Is that the Duke looking on? Having taken care of basic needs (he’d been out in the desert a long time), he becomes involved in a high stakes poker game and loses all of his money. No problem, Bone robs a safe. Unfortunately, Doc Holliday and the Earp boys capture him on Toughnut Street and cart him off to the OK Corral where Holliday threatens to shoot him. His fate is not to die in a gun battle, however. Marshall Earp delivers him to the Courthouse where he is tried by a jury of cow bones and faces his ultimate demise, for the second time. (The first time it was an alleged grizzly bear.) Bone is then fit with a coffin and joins his buddies on Boothill, desperados one and all. Is it all over for BONE? Is this the last chapter? No. When they are just about to plant Bone, his sidekick, Eeyore the Jackass, charges into the Graveyard in a daring rescue attempt. The two are last seen riding off into the sunset.

On the road again......
After spending time in San Diego spoiling our newest grandson Connor, enjoying a quick visit from Tasha and grandson Cody, and heading up to Sacramento to help Mom and Dad move into their new apartment downtown, visiting with the sibs and families, joining our BSBC friends for a picnic dinner, reuniting with our longtime backpacking and Burning Man friends for dinner and wine, Curt and I are back on the road headed for Death Valley NP, one of our favorite winter stopping haunts! Today is day 200 of retirement/travel and we find ourselves in the same place we were 200 days ago, Hawthorne, Nevada, enjoying a crystal clear day with views of the snow capped mountains (Nevada means "snow capped"!), appropriate. Next photo journal will be from Death Valley!
